Reno Tahoe Rustic Fireplace Renovation

A failing masonry fireplace. A gutted corner. Rebuilt from the studs into a wood-burning centerpiece built for the Sierra Nevada.

01 / Before: The Original Space

The original corner fireplace, a solid masonry unit, had begun to leak, forcing a full gut of the surrounding structure. What remained was exposed framing and a corner stripped to its bones. The homeowner saw an opportunity: rebuild it right, with a rustic wood-burning fireplace that matched the character of an Incline Village mountain home.

02 / During: Craftsmanship in Progress

03 / After: The Finished Space

The finished fireplace anchors the entire space, floor-to-ceiling stacked stone, reclaimed wood mantle and an arched firebox that draws the eye the moment you walk in. Outside, the chimney rises clean above the roof line, built to handle the demands of the Sierra Nevada winter. What started as a gutted, leaking corner became the defining feature of the home.
