A blank wall. A bold vision. Two weeks to build an electric fireplace that became the heart of the home.
01 / Before: The Original Space
The starting point was a bare wall-nothing but drywall and outlets. The homeowner desired warmth, character and a rustic focal point that felt intentional in a modern space. We designed and built the entire fireplace addition from scratch.
02 / During: Craftsmanship in Progress
Construction began where all good work does, the foundation. A raised hearth platform was built first establishing the elevation and scale before a single stone was set. From there, the fireplace insert was positioned, framing was built out to extend the surround across the wall and stone was laid course by course each piece hand-fitted to create a seamless stack from hearth to mantel.
03 / After: The Finished Masterpiece
The finished fireplace speaks for itself. Stacked stone runs floor to mantel, anchored by a slate hearth and a solid wood reclaimed mantel that ties the warmth of the fire to the natural materials around it. The TV integration was an integral part of the design. We professionally blended the TV design into the rock so that it does not compete with the craftsmanship. What began as a blank wall is now the focal point of the room.
